We begin tonight with more change on the Boston City Council. The district councilor for Allston-Brighton, Mark Ciommo, has announced he will not be running for re-election later this year. A legislator from Jamaica Plain and Mission Hill's filing legislation to change the state flag and seal. The state symbols have been criticized for honoring the use of violence in Massachusetts colonies against Native Americans. State prisons will start providing medications for inmates with substance use disorder. According to the Boston Globe, the medications--to reduce withdrawal symptoms and cravings for drugs--will be administered by a company hired by the Department of Corrections.
