As part of a nationwide campaign led by Jewish activists, one thousand people marched from Boston's Holocaust Memorial to the House of Correction in the South Bay, where some immigrants are being held for deportation. UMass Boston's paving the way toward redevelopment of the former Bayside Expo Center in Dorchester. According to the Dorchester Reporter, developers have signed a long-term ground lease for the waterfront property that will pay the UMass system two hundred thirty-five million dollars.
