We begin tonight with a push for new tenants protections at the State House. Mayor Walsh was among the speakers calling for support of legislation to give more protection from displacement to low-income and elderly renters. New details have emerged about the non-fatal shooting the night of July fourth at a park in Dorchester. Two people were injured in the shooting--a thirty-five year-old man left paralyzed in one leg and an eight year-old girl who's recovering from a foot injury. A developer wants to use a former rail corridor in East Boston as an access road for trucks. According to the Globe, Cargo Ventures hopes to use the road as a connection to Logan Airport and nearby industrial properties.
