BNN News Highlights for August 2, 2019 We begin tonight with a crackdown by police after yesterday's attack on a county corrections officer in the South Bay. Police arrested eighteen people yesterday around Mass Ave and Southhampton Street on outstanding warrants or new charges. Meanwhile, a forty-five year-old man has been arrested in connection with the attack on the corrections officer. According to the Boston Globe, Torre Jenkins of Boston has been charged with breaking and entering and larceny involving a motor vehicle. Federal regulators are allowing telecommunications companies to cut back on their contributions to local communities. This includes providers such as Comcast and Verizon.
